The International Cargo Bike Festival in Nijmegen will take place in the weekend of 18 and 19 April 2015. The festival is the biggest platform for cargo bikes and cycle logistics in the world.

On Saturday there will be a conference with presentations, workshops and discussion tables. Here a wide variety of cycle logistic related topics will be discussed. You'll get an update on one of last year's stories and you can attend a European Cycle Logistics Federation workshop on setting up and running a cycle based delivery business. You can register for the conference via the International Cargo Bike Festival website.
Sunday's programme starts off with a Cargo Bike Parade through the centre of Nijmegen to the festival grounds at the Vasim. Anyone can join the parade: just make sure you're on the Grote Markt at 11.30 a.m. on your own (cargo) bike.
Then it's time for the International Cargo Bike Fair where designers, producers and dealers will present their products. You can test ride all the different types of cargo bikes yourself - not just cargo bikes for commercial use, but also family cargo bikes, multi-person bikes and bicycles for disabled people. Two new bikes that will be presented at the fair are the Wedding bike and the Funeral bike. We can't wait to see those (yes, we'll be there too)!

The first day focused on the business side: how to make our cities more cycle friendly and turn the bicycle into a viable and economic alternative to the van.
