Tour de France 2015

On 4 July the Tour de France will start in Utrecht. It's the sixth time Holland hosts the Grand Départ. Stage 1 is an individual time trial through the streets of Utrecht. Stage 2 starts in Utrecht and finishes at Neeltje Jans in Zeeland. After this the Tour continues in Belgium and France.

If you want to cycle the route yourself, you can do so before or after the Tour de France. Obviously, on the days of the race itself roads will be closed for regular traffic. Below you'll find a map of both stages and GPX files you can download. Of course, you don't need to cycle 60 km/h - there is plenty of accommodation along the route!

Cycling in and around Utrecht

Utrecht is famous for its Dom tower and its cafes and restaurants along the Oudegracht (Old Canal). The historic city centre and varied countryside make Utrecht a great starting point for bike trips. On our Utrecht pages you'll find all the information you need, such as bike rental companies, bike-friendly accommodation and guided tours. There is also an overview of day trips in and around Utrecht.

During the Tour de France accommodation in Utrecht itself will be fully booked and expensive, so you might want to consider finding a place to stay outside the city and cycle into Utrecht. We hope you have a lovely time and enjoy your visit to Utrecht this summer!
