We have been working very hard to present you six new day trips for the 2016 cycling season. The routes will take you to various highlights of the Dutch countryside, from the wetlands around Giethoorn to the hills of South Limburg. Go and explore!

Amsterdam Amstel Cycle Route

Idyllic rivers, villages and forts.
Distance: 54 or 46 km

This varied route takes you along many winding rivers through the remarkably quiet rural region just south of Amsterdam. Highlights of the route are the medieval Castle Muiderslot and the forts of the Defence Line of Amsterdam. Read more »»

Giethoorn Weerribben Cycle Route

Thatched cottages, narrow bridges and wetlands.
Distance: 46 km

This route takes you through the wetlands of National Parks De Weerribben and De Wieden. Much of this water-rich area is only accessible by bike or boat. Highlight of this route is the village of Giethoorn, also know as the 'Venice of the North'. Read more »»

Giethoorn Wieden Cycle Route

Thatched cottages, lakes and wetlands.
Distance: 35 km

This route takes you through the wetlands of National Park De Wieden. Much of this water-rich area is only accessible by bike or boat. Highlight of this route is the village of Giethoorn, also known as the 'Venice of the North'. Read more »»

Maastricht Gulpen Cycle Route

Exploring the river valleys of South Limburg.
Distance: 53 km

This route takes you through the river valleys of South Limburg where you will discover that not all of Holland is flat. Highlights of the route are the beer brewing village of Gulpen and the historic centre of Maastricht. Read more »»

Maastricht Pietersberg Cycle Route

Ancient quarries and forts along the River Meuse.
Distance: 21 km

This route takes you through the valley of the River Meuse to the limestone plateau Mount St Peter (Pietersberg). Highlights of the route are the limestone caves and historic centre of Maastricht. Read more »»

Hindeloopen Cycle Route

Frisian lakes and folklore.
Distance: 51 or 45 km

This route takes you through the flat, open pastureland of Friesland, famous for its Frisian cows to several of Friesland's lakes. Highlight of the route is the Hanseatic town of Hndeloopen. Read more »»
