First, you will explore the coast of former Zuiderzee. An exhibition in Lelystad explains how this sea was made into Lake IJsselmeer and partly drained to make Flevopolder. In Holland’s Golden Age, Hoorn, Enkhuizen and Harderwijk were prosperous trading towns on the Zuiderzee. Their ships sailed the seven seas. Many historical buildings from that era still stand.
Then, discover our North Sea coast with its sandy beaches backed by dunes. The scenery on this tour is so varied; it will never cease to delight you: woods, dune reserves, polder, meadows with windmills, farmland, bulb fields and ... lots of water!
